VERSE 1
I saw your hand in mine
Under the ballroom glow
Your dress moved like a promise
Too shy to even show
The room was full of people
But I forgot their names
The world got soft and smaller
When your eyes met mine that way
PRE-CHORUS
And then the first note rose
Like a prayer in the air
My heart said, "Stay right here"
Like it always knew you'd be there
CHORUS
When the music started
You were all I saw
When the music started
Everything else was gone
And I knew, I knew
Right there in your arms
This was our forever
This was our first dance song (first dance song)
VERSE 2
Your fingers held me steady
Like they knew my restless hands
We swayed between the tables
And disappeared from the plan
The candles blurred to gold dust
The laughter faded out
I didn't need the future
I was living in the now
PRE-CHORUS
And then the first note rose
Like a prayer in the air
My heart said, "Stay right here"
Like it always knew you'd be there
CHORUS
When the music started
You were all I saw
When the music started
Everything else was gone
And I knew, I knew
Right there in your arms
This was our forever
This was our first dance song (first dance song)
BRIDGE
Not when we first met
Not under trembling lights
Not in that perfect question
But here, in this one night
With my head on your shoulder
And your smile in my skin
I found the moment we became
More than we were back then
FINAL CHORUS
When the music started
You were all I saw
When the music started
Everything else was gone
And I knew, I knew
Right there in your arms
This was our forever
This was our first dance song (first dance song)
When the music started
You were all I saw
When the music started
Everything else was gone
And I knew, I knew
Right there in your arms
This was our forever
This was our first dance song (our first dance song)
